Abstract: | Aiming at the seismic damage characteristic of the ancient brick pagodas, a technology of ancient pagoda strengthened with prestressing CFRP plate hoop is proposed, and the relevant tension anchoring device is developed. An experimental study of a hexagon brick pagoda model for the strengthening technology was made to investigate the strain condition and change rule with time of CFRP plate and brickwork under the confining hoop force. The results show that: the effective hooping constraint to the brickwork of pagoda can be generated by tensioning CFRP plate, and the tensioning strain of CFRP plate and compressive strain of brickwork is proportional to the pretressing degree; the over-tensioning technology can be used to reduce the influence of frictional resistance and improve the non-uniform condition of strain distribution between the plate and brickwork; under the condition of long-term prestreesing force, the strains of CFRP plate and brickwork tend to be stable after 14 days, and the change tendency complies with logarithmic distribution law. |
