Abstract: | In order to study the longitudinal shear capacity of the steel-concrete composite beam with two rows of shear studs, this paper conducted seven longitudinal shear tests on steel-concrete composite beam with two rows of shear studs; for comparison, one steel-concrete composite beam with one row of shear studs was also tested under longitudinal shear. The influence of the transverse/longitudinal spacing of the shear studs, the transverse reinforcement ratio of the concrete slab, the compressive strength of the concrete slab, and the stud configuration were investigated to clarify the longitudinal shear capacity and the failure mode of concrete slab. The effects of all parameters on the peak load and the ultimate slip were examined. Test results indicate that: the main failure modes for steel-concrete composite beam with two rows of shear studs is V-shaped shear cracking; the transverse/longitudinal spacing of the shear studs, the compressive strength of the concrete and the transverse reinforcement ratio of the concrete slab are the main parameters affecting the longitudinal shear capacity of the concrete slab; the load-carrying capacity increases with the transverse/longitudinal spacing of the shear studs, the compressive strength of the concrete and the transverse reinforcement ratio of the concrete slab. |
