Abstract:In order to study the influence of steel type on seismic performance of steel reinforced concrete shear wall, low cyclic loading experiments have been carried out, including experiments on the three 1/3 scaled of steel reinforced concrete shear walls and a contrast experiment on a normal reinforced concrete shear wall. According to the failure process and failure mode, the bearing capacity, crack propagation, stiffness, ductility and energy dissipation of shear wall were influenced by different types of steel. The experimental results show that the brace has a great effect on the bearing capacity, stiffness, ductility and energy dissipation capacity of the shear wall. Using X shaped U-steel, X shaped angle steel and X shaped I-steel as a brace respectively, the ultimate bearing capacity of shear wall can be increased by 71.8%, 59.6% and 49.4%, the ductility coefficient by 38.3%, 5.3% and 14.5% than contrast specimen; The stiffness of the steel reinforced concrete shear wall with brace is obviously better than that of the contrast specimen in the middle and later stages of experiment and the stiffness degradation rate is much slower; The plastic range of the steel reinforced concrete shear wall with brace increases dramatically than contrast specimens, and the hysteresis loop is full.
Keywords:steel reinforced concrete shear wall  X-type steel brace  low cyclic loading test  seismic performance  ductility performance
