Abstract: | The whole stress-strain curves of coral aggregate concrete were studied by using prismatic specimens under uniaxial compression. The equal stress cycle loading and unloading and equal strain monotonic loading methods were adopted, and the two methods were compared and analyzed. The results show that the crack of coral aggregate concrete directly through coral aggregate continues to spread. Failure of specimens under uniaxial compression is brittle. Typical failure pattern is splitting. The main inclined crack angle is between 65° and 70°. The ratio of residual stress and peak stress is between 0.292 and 0.525. It is shown that the damage to the coral aggregate concrete still has a high residual strength. The strength is gradually reduced, and it has certain ductility. The ascending trend of coral aggregate concrete with different strength grades is basically similar. However, with the increase of strength grade, the downtrend of descending stage is steeper, and the damage is more intense. In addition, coral aggregate concrete is more brittle than ordinary concrete and lightweight aggregate concrete with the same strength grade. |
