Simulation of the tearing behaviour of anisotropic geomembrane composites

This paper presents the results of experimental and theoretical studies of the tearing of geomembrane composites on textile base. A simple numerical model is suggested, which is obtained on the basis of a uniaxial state of stress. The influence of the mechanical parameters of the fabric, of the rubberizing coating, and of the state of stress on the development of macrodefects is a result of numerical experiments (by computer simulation).
