2-Methyltetrahydrofuran: Sustainable solvent for ruthenium-catalyzed olefin metathesis

Abstract:Applicability of 2-methyltetrahydrofuran for olefin metathesis was examined with a set of ruthenium Hoveyda-type second generation catalysts. Influence of temperature was studied and the results were compared with those obtained in classical solvents for metathesis: dichloromethane and toluene.
