The community interation space is very important for the harmony of community.This paper is based on the research on the using condition of contact space in Xiyuan residential district.It discovers that the social economic environment,space design,traditional culture concept and public policy are all essential factors to community intercourses.So the neighborhood intercourses should be regarded during the process of the building of the residential district.The government should establish the stimulative mechanism to encourage the designer to pay attention to the residents' requirements.
