| Abstract: | The luminescence of Eu2 in low- and high-temperature modified BaB8O13 are reported. The valance change from Eu3 to Eu2 is observed when the samples are prepared in air. Eu2 shows f-d transition at room temperature under UV excitation. The temperature dependency of the emission of Eu2 in the hosts is studied. Multiple crystallographic sites for Eu2 in the lattice are observed. |
