Abstract: | A compact transmission line with two pairs of composite right/left‐handed (CRLH) passbands is investigated, and its equivalent circuit is proposed. Compared with the conventional CRLH transmission line (CRLH‐TL), we use the rectangular patches with meander lines and the T‐shaped defected ground structures (T‐DGS) to model the other two resonators, which realize the second left‐ and right‐handed bands. The dispersion relations are analytically derived using the equivalent circuit and Bloch‐Floquet theory. The five‐stage CRLH‐TL is fabricated, and the measured results are in agreement with those of simulation. © 2010 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. Int J RF and Microwave CAE, 2010. |
