Abstract:Through experiments,the possibility of melting pure basalt raw materials(acidity coefficient >4)with Mo electrodes in the small electric melting furnace was discussed.An applicable furnace structure for melting basalt and the problems occurred in the process of melting were also discussed in this paper.
