| Abstract: | Adding sodium to lanthanum oxide increases appreciably the activity, the C+2 selectivity and the stability of the catalyst. The variations of these catalytic properties when the main kinetic parameters (contact time, temperature etc) vary could find their explanation in the formation of new reactive centers. The selectivity of these centers would be the result mainly of the inhibition of the primary reaction of the oxidation of methane into CO2. |
