Abstract:This paper proposes a comprehensive approach to the development of technology infrastructure for the application of information techology (IT) based solutions in teleconstruction—the performance of on-site construction and related tasks through the use of IT and robotics by a remotely located team of project participants: general contractor, subcontractors, equipment operators, materials suppliers, and project office professionals. The paper proposes that technologies exist that enable both terrestrial and extraterrestrial teleconstruction.
