DESIGN AND REVAMP OF DIESEL HYDROTREATING UNIT

As the product specifications become increasingly stringent and uncertain, it is extremely necessary to decide the product specifications and design the unit accordingly for the engineering of grass-roots diesel hydrotreating unit or its unit revamp. For the grass-roots unit, the feasibility of designing the reaction section in one time and implementing it in different stages shall be considered while leaving room for further dearomatization and upgrading. For the revamp unit, the product specification target shall be based upon the pressure rating of the existing equipment. The typical process flow diagram, process features, the criteria for the selection of process options and major design considerations are discussed.
