Industrial application of pre-conversion and pre-absorption process in sulphuric acid production with high-concentration SO2 off-gas

Principles and flow of Jinlong Copper＇s pre-conversion and pre-absorption process for high-concentration SO2 off-gas are described.A part of dried gas at over 14%SO2 is sent from blower outlet into pre-conversion and pre-absorption system.Some pre-absorbed gas and dried air is added to regulate the ratio of sulphur dioxide to oxygen in mixed gas and maintain SO2 concentration of converter inlet gas at about 12%.The remaining pre-absorbed gas is sent into main system arranged in double absorption process and mixed with the main gas to produce sulphuric acid.The process has some advantages such as less investment,small footprint,low operating costs, simple operation and is especially suitable for expansion of sulphuric acid plants in joint operation of metallurgical plants that produce high-concentrations SO2 off-gas.
