Microwave Phased Array Antenna Using Fiber Optic Signal Distribution Network

In this paper,the fundamental concept of phased array anten- na is presented as wll as advantages of fiber optics introduced into phased array.Emphasis is put on the discussion of three tasks of fiber optic sig- nal distribution network for phased array,i,e.,(1)distribution of the car- rier reference signal for T/R modules with synchronous frequency;(2)distri- bution of properly controlled signal for beam forming(amplitude control) and steering(phase control);and(3)distribution of communication/data information from CPU to the active modules.
