A RESEARCH ON THE PROPERTY OF MIXED POLYMER/SDBS SOLUTION

When the concentrations of partially hy drolyzed polyacrylamide (HPAM) and polyvinyl pyrrolidone (PVP) are constant,along with the increase of the concentra tion of SDBS the vescosity of mixed PVP/SDBS solution rapidly increases at a concentration (C1)nd no longer increases at the other higher concentration (C2)then a flat curve appears. There are two obvious break points T1 and T2in the surfacetension curve of the mixed solution; the concentration of SDBS at T1is equal to that at C1while the concentration of SDBS is less than that at T1 the surface tension of the mixed solution is lower than that of a single SDBS solution;from T1 on, the former is larger than the latter and a flat curve appears; and the concentration of SDBS at T2 is equal to that at C2 and when reaching to the surface tension of the mixed solution tends to be equal to that of the single SDBS solution. The vescosity of mixed HPAM/SDBS solution simply decreases with the inwease of the concentration of SDBS and the shape of the surface ten sion of the mixed solution－the concentration of SDBS relation is similar to that of the surface tension of pure SDBS solution its concetration relation,only the values of surface tension being slightly dropped. When the concentration of NaCl is 0.42 mol/L and that of SDBS 1.67×10-3mol/lin solution, the precipitation of SDBS occurs;while 0.417 g/L of PVP is added to the solution, it becomes clear and as 0. 417 g/L of HPAM is added to it, the precipitation of SDBS remains.
