Special Edition on the Inauguration of the Urban Planning Society of China

The inaugural meeting,dated from 11th through 16th Dec. 1990,marked a great step forward in the field of urban planning and design in China. This convention summarized achievements in urban planning in last decade and looks into future to develop the science of urban planning as well as preparation for a national congress of urban planners to be held sometime this year. With the founding of the Society must necessarily promote the prosperity of planning business and to better offer consultancy to facilitate decision-making on planning and developments issues thereby the local chapters of the planning society may discharge their responsibilities as consultants more effectively and also to improve their ability accordingly.
