Modern Illustration of the Vernacular House in Jiangnan and Design Thinking of Village Building

With the vernacular house in South East China as the research subject, the paper mainly summarizes the culture background and the feature in four aspects, such as plane layout, courtyard space form, construction system and architectural language. Furthermore, it analyzes the cultural and economical background in South East China today but also gives a review about the modern village building in South East China with the modern life. Finally, based on the consideration of suiting measures to local conditions, comfortable, nimble, regional feature, the paper tries to put forward new design concept about modern village building in South East China.
