葛洲坝电厂２１台机组安装４种型号的调速器，其中２１号机组的调速器是引进的，这几种调速器自１９８１年投运以来都不同程度的存在的一问题，在当时条件下，只进行过一些局部的改进，１９９０年以后，国内调速器的技术水平有限很大的进步，已成功地研制出多种机型，因此，葛洲南电厂对２１台调速器全部进行了改造，改造后的调速器其电所啊采用微机机型或可编程型，机械部分有１４台成功地用步进电机承代取电液转换器。经过运行考验
