Artificial Neural Network :The New Promise of Log Interpretation

Artificial neural networks(ANN), as a new intelligent information processing technique, are widely used in information science and engineering fields. It has been used in log interpretation successfully, and thus, many difficult problems can be solved with such a new technique. In this paper the basic ANN models and their possible applications as well as their implementation approaches are presented. Finally, a number of ANN application examples in log interpretation are given.
