Abstract: | The IEEE 802.11 protocol is one of the most widely accepted standards for wireless local area networks (WLANs). WLESS-frame is a novel development environment for 802.11 stations. It is based on a complete model of the medium access layer (MAC) and of the direct sequence spread spectrum (DSSS) physical layer. The tool is aimed at supporting hardware/software co-design and validation of 802.11 stations, also analyzing the behaviour of a station in a network. The paper describes the implementation of the tool, its applicability and the performance analysis of a network under various workload conditions. |
