Abstract: | Type 13X molecular sieve and chromic acid on silica gel have been examined as sorbents for the removal of mercury vapour from hydrogen at atmospheric pressure and, chiefly, ambient temperature. The molecular sieve had a very low capacity for mercury. Chromic acid on silica gel had a much higher capacity but this was much reduced by the presence of water vapour in the hydrogen. |
