On the input impedance of a Hertzian dipole over a flat surface |

Abstract: | An explicit formula is derived for the change of input impedance of a vertical electric dipole as a function of the distance of the dipole to a horizontal boundary with a prescribed surface impedancen. It is shown that, ifn ll 120pi, the result is consistent with the formula obtained by the compensation-theorem approach. |
