Abstract: | Generic lifecycle methodologies for object-oriented development have, to date, not given serious consideration to the need for persistence; either in terms of storage of objects in a relational database or in an objectbase. Here, consideration of traditional staged database design methodologies identifies features currently lacking in object-oriented lifecycle methodologies. A new generic methodology (or metamethodology) is proposed which offers more complete support for an information systems development involving persistent objects. |
