| Abstract: | The development of acoustic diffuser from the 1960s is summarized. The typical diffusers and its acoustics scattering characteristics are demonstrated. Then the paper states how the scattering property of a diffuser could be defined and measured. The initial investigations on the effect of surface scattering on room acoustics are introduced. In the end a series of questions relating to sound diffusion that need further investigated are pointed out. |
