Abstract: | Experimental data on the irradiation-induced long-range effects in rolled Ni-Cu foils are presented. Dose-dependent variations in the microhardness and composition of the surface layers were observed on both exposed and unexposed sides of the samples. Based on the observed microhardness and composition variations in depth of the samples and the results of X-ray diffraction measurements, a hypothesis concerning the role of the initial nonequilibrium state of a material in the photoinduced long-range effect is put forward. |
