语料库语言学（corpus linguistics）不仅开创了一种新的语言学研究方法，更开辟了一片新的语言学科领域。语料库语言学发展的最新阶段是语料库在与语言相关的各个领域中的广泛应用。把经常使用的英文谚语收集、整理、纳入英语语料库，是语料库语言学在英语语言教学上一个的运用，也是教学资源开发的一个源泉。从英文谚语的语言特点、文化含义、社会功用等方面，论述了英谚是英语语料库中一个重要资源，应积极开发，并用于大学英语教学。

The Importance of English Proverbs as Teaching Resources from the Pespective of Corpus Linguistics

Corpus linguistics not only initiates a new linguistics research method, but also starts a new linguistic field. The latest stage is that the corpus is applied extensively in every field related to language. Collecting English proverbs and bringing them into the corpus is an application of corpus in English language teaching, and also a source for the development of teaching resources. This paper argues that English proverbs are precious material in English corpus from several aspects including language features, cultural implication, and social functions. They should be developed and used in English teaching.
