| Abstract: | The molecular connectivity index mX were used to study the retention index of some organic compounds in gas chromatography. The analysis of structure property relationship between the retention index of the compounds and the molecular connectivity indices was carried out. The mX values of 108 molecules for 15 series of organic compounds were calculated. It was found that mX was highly correlated with the retention indices RI of gas chromatography for these compounds. The results show that all the correlation coefficients are larger than 0.99. |
