GIS-based management information system for groundwater recharge of Shandong Province

A groundwater recharge management information system was developed based on the MapGIS platform to study the current situation of groundwater recharge and to predict and evaluate its variation. The software developed includes such modules as the introduction to the system, specialized calculation, information query, thematic map drawing, and help center, which is composed of database, map base, attribute base, and model base. In the system, all the information about groundwater recharge of Shandong Province, including texts, maps, images, data, and sounds, is divided into different projects according to their spatial and temporal characteristics for further analysis, summary, statistics, calculation, and query. Applications show that the system is of high applicability.
