摘    要:WLAN和GPRS网络是两种使用最广泛的无线网络技术,两者具有很强的互补性。WLAN能提供较高的数据速率.但只适合热点地区应用。GPRS能提供随时在线的连接,但数据速率较低。假如用户能在两者之间无缝切换,无线数据服务的性能和灵活性将得到极大提高。WLAN/GPRS融合网络可以提供随时随地的无缝接入和移动计算。论文主要基于WLAN网络的可用性、尽可能使用WLAN以达到既高速又廉价的无线接入服务,研究WLAN和GPRS的无缝切换,提出基于双阀门值的自适应无缝切换算法,仿真实验证明这种算法在切换次数和尽可能使用WLAN之间取得较好的平衡。

Abstract:WLAN and GPRS are used widely wireless network technology, they are complementary. WLAN provides high-speed wire-less internet access, but aggressive deployment in hotspots. In contrast to WLAN.GPRS provides wider coverage areas and always on connectivity. However the bandwidth provided by GPRS is relatively low-speed. If a user can seamless handoff between both, performance and flexibility of wireless data service has been improved .The integration of WLAN and GPRS can provides any time any where seamless access and mobile computation. This paper focuses availability of WLAN, as much as possible using WLAN to access service of high-speed and cheap, studies seamless handoff between WLAN and GPRS , put forward dual threshold-Based adaptive seamless handoff algorithm, result of experiment validates that this approach reach a better tradeoff between handoff count and as much as possible using WLAN.
