Application of Wi-Fi Technology in Building a Broadband Wireless City

The application of Wi-Fi （Wireless Fidelity） broadband wireless access technology represents as a new development trend of broadband access technology which shall not be ignored.Thanks to its own advantages,this technology receives much attention from telecom carriers and governments of all levels responsible for building an information-based society,and serves as the main technology to build broadband wireless cities.This paper introduces the major application realms of Wi-Fi technology in building wireless cities in China and can be helpful for local governments in building their information-based societies.
