| 摘 要： | 大学是一个传授普遍知识的地方，大学的主要职能是教学，大学为传授知识而设，这是纽曼《大学的理想》的中心思想。从《大学的理想》有关教学目标——传播和推广知识与培育理智、教学内容——整合的知识、教学方法——激发学习动机以及教学组织——让学生合作学习的论述中，阐述了纽曼的大学教学思想，并据此反思了现代大学教学。
