Pressurizer transients dynamic model

Abstract:Transient behavior of the pressurizer in a pressurized water nuclear power plant is analysed. A digital model is presented for the study of the behavior of the condensing vapor and bubble rise in the liquid volume of the pressurizer. This model furnished a solution for the transient phenomena of the pressurizer following in- or outsurge processes. The analysis takes into consideration the variation of the thermodynamic mass qualities and water level inside the pressurizer. Unlike the previous models, the present one does not need the knowledge of the bubble rise and condensate drop velocities or the droplet and vessel diameters. The results obtained are generally in good agreement with the test data from real and model pressurizers.
