Effects of Microwave Dielectric Heating on Heterogeneous Catalysis

Abstract:The effect of microwave dielectric heating on both endothermic and exothermic reactions was investigated. Apparent equilibrium shifts for both reactions were observed which were attributed to the formation of spatial hot spots in the catalyst bed. The possible location of remarkable temperature gradients was examined experimentally and theoretically.
