| Abstract: | To provide each application with a transparent custom view of the data is an important goal of database design. The presence of multiple DBSs will make this goal more difficult, especially in heterogeneous environments, in which each local DBS has imcompatible hardware, system software, communication protocals, and DBMS itself. |
