Abstract:Denture base made from acrylic resin (polymethyl methacrylate,PMMA) was reinforced by different contents of ultrahigh modulus polyethylene fiber (UHMPEF).The flexural strength of the denture base was tested,the failure modes and microstructures were investigated with a scanning electron microscope(SEM).The results indicate that 3.5wt%UHMPEF increased the ultimate flexural strength of the denture base.
