Abstract:LED is widely applied to the automobile backlight system.A single LED is approximately taken as a point light source.In the large area lighting,LED alignment influences the uniformity of brightness heavily.The characteristic of LED backlight is studied,then the effect of LED alignment on the brightness uniformity of automobile backlight system is analyzed.The LEDs' alignment is mainly studied and a method to improve the uniformity of brightness in an automobile dashboard backlights system is presented.Based on this method,the distance of LEDs is optimized and the alignment of LED array with an optimal distance is calculated.So the amount of LEDs is optimal and the light effect of single LED is good.This method is applied successfully in the part design of backlight system.Result shows that this method is effective.
