Laser-target technique for determination of elastic constants of glass over a wide temperature range

Optical methods have been developed for high temperature application in the determination of the basic quantities, E, Young's modulus and , Poisson's ratio. The methods are simple and the techniques are inexpensive. The methods presented have been tried on commercially available soda-lime-silica glass and consistent results were obtained.
