| Abstract: | Some replicas of plant cell surfaces produced by platinum/palladium evaporation were of very poor quality. Scanning electron microscope X-ray microanalysis showed that only Pd was evaporated from the Pt/Pd alloy, leaving the Pt on, or alloyed with, the tungsten filament used for evaporation. |
