An experimental study on the behaviour of an underexpanded supersonic gas jet |

| Abstract: | The velocity decay and radial spreading characteristics of an underexpanded supersonic jet have been determined by a hot film anemometer. It is shown that the axial velocity in the subsonic portion of an underexpanded jet decays exponentially in a way similar to that of a fully expanded gas jet. |
