| Abstract: | Channel segregation is the result of the movement of solute - enriched liquid along the interdendritic channelsof the solid+liquid,mushy zone,during solidification. This paper reviews the recent research work conducted in the critical conditions for the formation of A and V channel segregation and,in so doing,suggests practical precautions that may be taken to reduce such segregation,based on the theories of the stability of fluid flow. |
