Research Progress on Preparation and Properties of Silicon Nitride Ceramics

Because of its high performance such as high strength, thermal shock resistance, high fracture toughness, high bending strength at room temperature, wear resistance, oxidation resistance, corrosion resistance, etc. it is widely used for every profession and trade. The basic properties of silicon nitride ceramic were introduced, the preparing technique of silicon nitride ceramic, the methods of improving its high temperature performance and toughening ways were reviewed, and finally, in the future, the silicon nitride ceramics will have a very good prospect for the industrial application.
