Preparing limestone for burning

Conclusions Classification of limestone before burning can be done by the screening method on 20 and 8 mm screens. Segregation of material into the fractions 3–8 and 0.5–3mm should be done with plant incorporating a fluidized bed which permits more complete use to be made of the raw materials, increases the specific loading compared with screens, improves the quality of the classification products, and contributes to an increase in the quality of the fired products, and enables us to use the heat of the waste gases from the calcination units.Translated from Ogneupory, No.6, pp. 18–21, June, 1967.
