浅论太湖在太湖流域防洪中的作用

太湖位于太湖流域中心，是我国第三大淡水湖泊，也是太湖流域防洪的调蓄中心。分析论述了太湖的自然、社会特性，以及在太湖流域历史洪灾中的调蓄和削峰作用。随着流域经济社会的快速发展和对太湖的进一步开发、利用和治理，流域防洪形势依然严峻，进一步分析和展望了太湖在未来流域防洪中的地位与作用。

Role of Taihu Lake in Flood Control Efforts of Taihu Basin

The Taihu Lake, the third largest freshwater lake in China, functions as a diversion and storage center for flood control as it is located in the center of the Taihu Basin. The paper analyzes its natural and social characteristics and its diversion/storage as well as peak clipping roles in previous floods of this region. Despite the rapid economic and social development in the ＂basin and continuous exploitation, utilization and regulation of the lake, the flood control situation is still critical. The paper further analyzes the significance and the role it would play in future flood control efforts in the Taihu Basin.
