Abstract: | The corrosion rate of powder-metallurgy nickel in a 3% HCl + 5% NaCl solution is measured by gravimetric, volumetric, analytical, and electrochemical (polarization and impedance measurements) methods. A method of measuring the corrosion rate of sintered materials per unit visible or true surface, based on the analysis of frequency dependence of electrochemical impedance, is described. Limitations on using the methods of measuring the corrosion rate for porous materials are discussed. |
