Supertankers: Simulators for the study of steering.

Reports on the development of simulators for the study of supertankers, one of the largest man-machine systems ever built. Since the law requires that they be steered by hand in critical conditions (e.g., entering a harbor), supertankers offer an opportunity to study various aspects of human performance as controllers of complex systems.
