| Abstract: | Taking the 6×19S+FC wire rope as an example, the author discusses why the weight of unit length of API wire ropes is heavier than that of GB8918-88 wire ropes, points out that the heavier weight of the unit length of API wire ropes results from the high duty rope wires used and is advantageous to improving the breaking strength and service life of wire ropes. |
