Abstract: | Conclusions The principal properties of masses based on electrocorundum significantly and unambiguously vary with the amount and composition of the additives introduced and with the type of electrocorundum and binder.Silica-containing additives dilate the corundum matrix to a lesser degree than magnesium-containing additives; orthophosphoric acid reduces the porosity and increases the strength of specimens from masses to a greater degree than a. s. w., regardless of the type of electrocorundum and additives; it also greatly reduces the growth of specimens with magnesium-containing additives; white electrocorundum can be used as the corundum component besides titaniferous and chromous electrocorundum.Translated from Ogneupory, No. 1, pp. 40–43, January, 1981. |
