ABSTRACT

This paper describes a high-pulse-energy frequency-doubled ultraviolet dye laser operating at a repetition rate of 500?Hz. The pump source is a laser-diode side-pumped Q-switched Nd:YAG laser with a pulse energy of 29?mJ at 532?nm. A master oscillator power amplifier is employed to amplify the output pulse of the dye laser to 8.1?mJ at 566?nm, and by frequency doubling with BBO crystal a pulse energy of 1.7?mJ at 283?nm is achieved with a pulse width of 8?ns. This is more than four times the largest reported pulse energies generated by other fixed-frequency dye lasers when operating at repetition rates of more than 1?kHz. The conversion efficiency and stability of dye laser are discussed, which show the potential for high-speed laser diagnostics in the fields of combustion and turbulent flow detection.  相似文献

Pulse laser generation in several Er3+,Yb3+:glasses thermally bonded with Co2+:MgAl2O4 was achieved. Peak power in the range of 1.83–7.68 kW with pulse duration between 2.9 and 4.2 ns and energy up to 24 μJ was obtained. The output characteristics for different transmissions of the output couplers were investigated. To show the improvements gained by the thermal bonding procedure, a comparison of thermally bonded and unbonded samples was done in terms of generation efficiency, peak power, beam quality, generated spectra and pulse to pulse jitter.  相似文献

A diode-pumped passively Q-switched mode-locking Nd:GdVO4 laser using a chemically reduced graphene oxide saturable absorber was demonstrated. The repetition rate and pulse width of the Q-switching envelopes were 5.7 MHz and 100 ns, respectively, while those of the mode-locking pulses that were modulated in the Q-switching envelopes were 139 MHz and 10 ps. At the maximum pump power of 7 W, the average output power was 1.38 W, corresponding to a slope efficiency of 25%.  相似文献

Diffraction of a Gaussian beam by a large cylindrical particle that intersects the beam with constant speed is investigated both theoretically and experimentally. Certain features of the problem associated with the presence of the spatial scale of the beam are analyzed. A method is proposed and a device created for simultaneous measurement of the radius and speed of a particle. Measurements demonstrated good agreement between the calculated and experimental data.  相似文献

目的 提高铝合金的焊缝抗拉强度,解决铝合金焊接过程中的裂纹缺陷。方法 采用脉冲Nd:YAG激光与半导体激光复合焊接铝合金,先用Nd:YAG激光形成焊接熔池,然后用半导体激光对熔池进行加热保温,获得无裂纹的焊缝,并对焊缝进行抗拉强度测试。结果 与单独的Nd:YAG激光焊接相比,Nd:YAG激光与半导体激光复合焊接的铝合金焊缝抗拉强度提高了50%,达到193 MPa,为母材抗拉强度的90%。结论 2束激光的结合延长了熔池的冷却凝固时间,从而有效避免了热裂纹,减少了焊接缺陷,提高了焊接质量。  相似文献

Paint removal by laser ablation is favoured among cleaning techniques due to its high efficiency. How to predict the optimal laser parameters without producing damage to substrate still remains challenging for accurate paint stripping. On the basis of ablation morphologies and combining experiments with numerical modelling, the underlying mechanisms and the optimal conditions for paint removal by laser ablation are thoroughly investigated. Our studies suggest that laser paint removal is dominated by the laser vaporization effect, thermal stress effect and laser plasma effect, in which thermal stress effect is the most favoured while laser plasma effect should be avoided during removal operations. Based on the thermodynamic equations, we numerically evaluated the spatial distribution of the temperature as well as thermal stress in the paint and substrate under the irradiation of laser pulse at 1064 nm. The obtained curves of the paint thickness vs. threshold fluences can provide the reference standard of laser parameter selection in view of the paint layer with different thickness. A multi-pulse model is proposed and validated under a constant laser fluence to perfectly remove a thicker paint layer. The investigations and the methods proposed here might give hints to the efficient operations on the paint removal and lowering the risk of substrate damages.  相似文献

In this paper, a quantum mechanical model is proposed to describe the basic features of stimulated Cherenkov radiation in the small-signal low-gain regime. In this model, the electron is described by a wavepacket with finite spreading length and the electron wave function is a solution of the Schrödinger equation. We show that the quantum effects are manifested when the spreading length of the electron wave is much longer than the electromagnetic (EM) wavelength such as in the optical wavelength range. The effect of electron relaxation due to Coulomb's collisions with neighboring electrons is introduced to characterize the damping of the vibration of the electron wave with time. When the relaxation effect is neglected, we prove that our essential results match with other classical and quantum approaches based on different theoretical concepts.  相似文献
