随着电力需求的增加,规划中的许多特高压交流输电线路工程处于华东经济发达地区,针对日益紧张的路径状况,为缓解华东土地资源稀缺矛盾,提高线路走廊利用效率,提高华东电网输送能力,合理利用土地资源,特高压交流输电线路工程采用同杆架设将极大缓解经济发达地区没有路径走廊的矛盾.通过对国内外500 kV及1 000 kV同塔双回输电现状、特高压交流采用同塔双回路的优势、技术上的可行性、线路设备的国产化能力以及检修和维护等方面进行分析论述,论证了特高压交流采用同塔双回架设技术上是完全可行、合理的.

All good things must come to an end, including a thesis. After years of reading countless journal articles, scouring through textbooks, listening to hours of lectures, attending annual IEEE Engineering in Medicine and Biology Society (EMBS) conferences, meeting numerous clinicians, coding at all hours of the night, and dissecting draft after draft after written draft, there comes a time in every graduate student?s life when the thesis is ready for the print room. Engineering graduate students around the world spend years of their lives striving toward the goal of a finished thesis product, one which contributes novel ideas and techniques to the scientific community. However, upon reaching the pinnacle of their early careers, it is almost a certainty that every student will be faced with the dreaded question: "Now that you have finished your thesis, what's next?"

A s engineers, we need to be involved in the standards-making process for other standards that have an impact on our electrical engineering world. One particularly important standard is the National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) Standard, NFPA 70, the National Electrical Code. Although the name may imply that it is strictly a standard for the United States, it is viewed as a reference of good practice in many countries around the world.

A Statistical Analysis of the Grades of B.S.E.E. Recipients

A statistical analysis is performed on 11 course grades for over 200 B.S.E.E. students. These students graduated from the California State University, Long Beach (C.S.U.L.B.) over a four-year period. The resulting means and correlations along with certain other data provide an interesting insight into academic tendencies. Some conclusions are drawn from these tendencies as to future industrial success and as to effective course development.
